Mark Fickert
Producer, Editor & Writer
Trained as an actor and writer at HB Studios in NYC, future archeologists may someday discover the fossilized remains of Mark’s earliest entertainment venture, RANDOM SCAM, Dallas’ first improv/comedy group. Not having learned his lesson, he went on to co-found Dallas’ longest-running improv group, 4 OUT OF 5 DOCTORS and also toured as a stand-up comic, appearing at Catch-A-Rising Star, Improv(s) and Funny Bone(s), among other(s).
A member of Actor’s Equity Association, he works in regional theaters, television (DALLAS, WALKER: TEXAS RANGER, EXPOSED), appeared in numerous commercials, and voices a plethora of characters for Japanese anime (FUNIMATION, CRUNCHYROLL). Films include working with directors like Robert Altman (STREAMERS), Tony Richardson (BLUE SKY) and Richard Linklater (NEWTON BOYS).
Writing credits, you ask? While doing all of the above, Mark was a freelance copywriter, created team-building programs AND scribed, performed – even produced & directed – over five-hundred “Fortune 100” corporate-entertainment videos and live presentations all over North America. But he decided to stop getting paid and write for the love of it. His seasonal comedy review HOLIDAY ON THIN ICE is in workshop, screenplay CRITICAL STRAIN (with Bill Hare) is being shopped and the novel BAG LADY, penned with our own Gayle Pruitt, is in edit.
Standing at 6’4”, and with a formal background in Daylight Savings Mime, Mark’s superhero power is getting stuff off the top shelf in complete silence. Working for COLOR CODE YOUR DOG FOOD indicates his career has gone to the dogs… in the best possible way.
